Presenter

He has worked as a freelance presenter for radio and TV, and variously as game show host, narrator (Facade, Peter and the Wolf, etc), compere, MC, toastmaster and town crier.

Theatre

Simon Fisher-Becker's improvisation skills and considerable presence make him an ideal stage performer. He has appeared eighteen pantomimes, playing villains such as King Rat in Dick Whittington and dames including Dame Trot in Dick Whittington, Nursey in Sinbad's Most Excellent Adventure and Ugly Sister in Cinderella. Other theatre ranges from Mr Bumble in Oliver to Duncan and Ross in The Scottish Play.

Hamlet: Tragedy of a Fat Man

But perhaps the most demanding of all Simon's roles is that of Max Thornbury in Hamlet:Tragedy of a Fat Man, a one man show specially written for him by Paddy Gormley: HTFM was premiered in 2002 at the Etcetera Theatre, Camden, London and has completed a nationwide tour.

The play shows Simon's full range as an actor, with such diverse characters as Janet of the Apes (Ophelia), Splosher (children's TV show presenter), a Sumo wrestling Laertes ("a very palpable arm lock!"), Sid the Serial Strangler and of course the deeply disturbed Max.

Hamlet: Tragedy of a Fat Man is available for public and private performance either on its own (45 minutes) or in a double bill with The Fall by Albert Camus, performed by Clive Ward & Kirsty Bennett. Full details on the Tiltyard Theatre Company website.
